There is no love in war, only rhythm, order, and sacrifice. The generals, colorless and detached, move their armies like pieces on a board, while the drummer boy—caught in the middle—keeps the beat.

A war drummer boy was a young boy, often between 12 and 16 years old, who played the drum in military units during war. Drummers were important for keeping the army in sync, using different drum beats to signal commands like marching, attacking, or retreating.
